Carausius pour dioclétien PROVID AVGGG

Avez-vous des informations sur cette monnaie.
Il y a eu de rares monnaies avec les 3 G au revers pax et salus par contre je ne trouve pas celle-ci

Antoninien de Carausius pour Dioclétien revers la Providence

Atelier: s/p/c: Colchester

Jusque là, pas de problème majeur...

Mais Dioclétien est représenté en manteau impérial...probablement en rapport avec un consulat...

Là, ça devient intéressant...Consulat de Dioclétien...ou de Carausius ???

Quelques recherches permettront sans doute de préciser la chose, et donc de dater assez précisément l'objet...

If I may introduce mysef first. I am a collector and student of the coins of Carausius and the three emperor coins particularly interest me.

Pflaum's paper, cited above, was superceded by Carson in 1982. My own paper on the three emperor coins published in 2009 adds greaty to the variety of confirmed types published by Carson. My paper, ‘The Coinage of Carausius and his Colleagues’ Numismatic Circular 117 (2009) pp.198-206, can be downloaded from the internet. Unfortunately I am a new member here and I cannot post a link to it but if you Google it you should be able to find it.

I can confirm that the consular coin of Diocletian in this thread is a type that is new to me (it would come after coin 116 in my list).

I am currently collecting material for a supplement to my original listing and would appreciate a clearer picture for my records if possible.
