Dear Fellow Collectors,
I am just trying to figure out what Patrick Bruun had in his mind when he was describing emission marked in RIC VII as LONDON 64-84 (mintmark S|P/MSL). I am now only sure that his use of standard B4 and B5 was very unconventional here. However, there are some tips in footnotes and the most valuable is the information in footnote 81 on p. 102: "Maur. [i.e. Maurice, Numismatique constantinienne] ii. p. 40 rev. II. 1, makes a mistake when attributing this type to the m.m. [mintmark] S|F/MSL, for the P coin [i.e. form Paris Collection] reproduced on his pl. II. 2 shows S|P in the field".
The coin reproduced in Maurice is described in RIC as having bust type B4 l. [LONDON 81], so the easiest way to determine what "B4 l." meant for Bruun in the case of this particular emission, is to take a clear look at Maurice's picture. Unfortunately, right now I have no access to Maurice.
Could someone help me? All I need is a readable scan.
