J'aime toute l' histoire du IIIe siècle.

Une période très intéressante est la période du règne de Carausius et d'Allectus et l'empire britannique.
Sous le règne de Carausius, un atelier existe en Gaule : les historiens ne sont pas sûrs s'il était localisé à Boulogne ou Rouen (Rotomagus).
Une des seules sources abondant dans le sens de la localisation de l'atelier à Rouen, c'est un trésor trouvé proche de Rouen contenant des Antoniniens d'un style uniformément spécifique.

Voici deux exemplaires de ces monnaies issues de ma collection:

Il y a a eu depuis , pas mal de trouvailles de ces monnaies au type si spécial , faites aux alentour de Rouen .....

Un atelier dont la gravure semble bien peu soignée si on compare le travail des scalptores à celui de l'atelier de Londres.

Apparemment, il y a eu aussi une frappe d'or. De même, en cherchant sur le web, on trouve pas mal de types différents attribués à cet atelier...

Of the highest rarity, only very few specimens known. Struck on a full flan with an
interesting portrait, several edge marks, otherwise about extremely fine
Ex Hirsch 1911, Barron, 1246 and Ars Classica 18, 1938, 488 sales.

Perlkreis; Rs: TVTE-LA P. Pax stehend nach links, im linken Arm Füllhorn, in der rechten Hand Blüte. Abschnitt, Perlkreis. RIC 692; Hunter -; C. 363 var. (Vs.-Legende). D. d=19 mm - Antoninian, 286, Rotomagus (Rouen). [IMP] C CARAVSIVS AV. Büste mit Strahlenkrone, Paludament und Panzer rechts. Rs: FORTV - [NA R]EDV. Fortuna mit Steuerruder und Füllhorn en face stehend, den Kopf nach links gewandt. RIC 642 var. C. 93 var. 2,61g. Sehr selten. Braungrüne Patina, sehr schön.
